And We're Back

And we're back! After a couple months of abandoning this blogbeing busy as hell, Preyx and I finally have enough time where we can comfortably resume our semi-regular postings.

If you've been wondering what we've been doing, we've been staffing Anime Expo in various capacities. I'm sure one of these days Preyx will upload the pictures into one of our galleries.

Still, AX was two weeks ago. So what has been occupying my time recently? Just refer to the top picture accompanying this post and add "DS" to the end of it. That's right, I picked up "Spice and Wolf DS - Horo and My One Year" (狼と香辛料 ボクとホロの一年) limited edition and have been playing it almost obsessively.
(more after the break)

Spicy Wolf DS, at its core, is a combination of basic trading game and dating sim. Set in an alternate timeline to the anime/novel/manga series, the premise is that you (referred to as "ボク" the entire game instead of by name) are a young trader who is just setting off into the world. At the end of a trade, you come across a suspicious deal: use of a horse and cart for one year as long as you escort your benefactor to her home town. You accept the deal, and find the wolf Horo in the body of a young girl. Now you need to find her home town and make your way as a trader in one year.

So far, I've beaten the game once and am about halfway through my second playthrough with New Game+. Horo is amazing. Since almost all of the cutscenes are voiced, there is no shortage of Koshimizu Ami's sweet sweet teasing voice. Be sure to comb Horo's tail if you get a chance...

Now let's just see if I have the patience to run through the game 10 more times to get the special 12th ending...

Anyway, bonus pic:
